here in Canada, officially we use the metric system, but since our main trading partner and closest neighbor is the US, we need to be fluent in both systems AND be able to convert them back and forth. it's a major pain for businesses.

 I guess it goes to what your are brought up with. I was born in California so of course the imperial system makes sense to me but moving to Japan I have now had to learn the metric system. Both are equal if you think about it. The confusion comes when your mind is thinking in metric and you have to think in imperial measuring. I still have problems after 12 years comparing the 2, hahahahha

 Imperial system of units is stupid! Why they ,UK included, can't adopt International Standard Unit system?
