How much do you weigh for the sake of argument? I was 85Kg when i had vertstar. Christers were torn apart after the first day in chatel (they were new before heading out)

Ah ok are you running fairly high tyre pressures then, I've had several pairs of muddy marys and never had this happen even after riding out in morzine (the rear tyre did get shredded pretty bad but that was expected).
