Selected by Matt Wragg - The backwoods of Cascadia are filled with trails like this one: elegant, rolling ribbons of deep dark loam broken up by scare-the-crap-out-of-you rock faces, and python sized off camber roots. I like how Brad's used the trees in the foreground to break up the image into thirds. It's not very often that you get to ride right by a waterfall. Trails like this one are often top secret, but If you ask a local nicely, you may be invited to ride the best trail you've never heard of.
I most certainly enjoy the depth and emotion captured by the unique composition. The way the natural, almost earthy tones filter through is quite exhilarating.
personally I enjoy the lush yet somewhat minimal landscape in which the rider is surreptitiously framed, giving a satisfyingly organized yet rounded perspective.
its a real true grind to the top if your leave from gate 13, its ALL uphill and far steeper than what your use to on the south side of the mountain so be fully prepared for that. finding the entrance is another story, very very tricky if you dont know what to look for, i stumbled across it exploring one day, i dont even know what the trail its off of is called, so i wish you luck finding it!
