Total build ended up being a bit more expensive than planned, but it also has some better parts than planned (found some good 2nd hand deals that made it worth spend a little extra for much more quality, for example the XT brakes, XT Hollowtech II cranks and XTR rear hub)
Yeah I know what you mean. An adapter so you can fit a 1 1/8" ahead stem on a threaded fork Yeah I still run the original stem. Might change it tho, as it feels a bit on the long side, but maybe I just need to get used to it
By messing around with the cog and chain ring. Changing a total of 2T up or down has the same effect as a half link. 1T up or down is even double as effective as a half link. The down side is that it's hard to find the perfect gear combined with a decent chain tension, as well as you can't retention it when the chain starts wearing down.
those old frames ride super nice for what they cost
