Selected by Matt Wragg - You'd be surprised how hard it is to get a shot like this, this right. Getting the right balance in the composition, the light right and getting a rider to look this aggressive... Not easy, but perfectly done by Margus.
Photo geek question... How did he get the boarder darkened/framed in the shot? Is this slightly touched up in PS or just a perfect/magical setting... Great shot
We all (apart from you I guess LOL) heard of Photoshop. It is that amazing stuff that you get your picture into, press random buttons and after few minutes you have a randomly generated picture that might look cool. Pros are using it all the time mate...
From my limited photography experience it could be one of two things. Either the lense has a vignette effect when you take the picture, or He added a vignette effect later in PS. It's just a faded border around the picture.
It looks like the rider was in a patch of forest that let a significant amount of light through, and exposing for the rider, the rest of the forest that wasn't as bright will be a lot darker. I think the reason it looks vignetted is because of the perfect spot in the forest this was taken, because directly behind him is a patch of forest that is pretty sparse with leaves and trees, so it looks like it's making a circle around him. I'd say this has less to do with post-production work than extremely good talent by the photographer for noticing the perfect light and location.
