What you see here is a stendecworks.com spring. What, exactly, is so special about it? Well, it's a proprietary blend of metals that weighs in at 100 grams or so lighter than ti. And it's available in 25lb increments. And it retails for about 80 British pounds. How good are they? The entire Giant Factory Racing squad is on them.

Just got one for my Vivid... came in the mail today, 375lb rate... can't wait to test it out, should be the perfect spring rate.

As far as i know, the whole team is running the new Vivids or atleast the chassis. Looking forward for some more details about those springs, 100g lighter than similar titaniums for ~80 Pounds must be a bargain.

probably some type of high quality/strength steel based blend so they can use a thin openly wound coil, which is awesome with ti being so expensive

Anyone with metallurgy knowledge have any idea what this may be?

hmm yea, they seem to only list steel springs in 50lb increments. Isn't the Giant team all on vivids though?
