 Longer I looked at this photo the more I like it. Notice the cop in the bottom right totally ignoring Rheeder. As a cop in Mexico I imagine he's seen a few scarier, more adrenaline fueled things go down. The woman (girl) hanging like spider-man just above him; the pink hat peaking round the corner from the balcony on the top right - can't tell if there's a head under it! And finally the church itself hanging above the whole scene, almost glowering, unimpressed - like the cop, it's seen a few things over the centuries. Kind of reminds me of work by Henri Cartier-Bresson, messy yes but in a good way.

 It would be perfect if you could easily spot the rider. The chaotic setting of the crowd is so sick but it is unintentionally messy because of the color gear he's wearing against that backdrop. Wasn't that trick a no-look backflip as well as being off axis? What a cool event to send off the season.

 Not better just different. @mdelorme and I were standing just a few feet apart and working together to cover this event. I'd say this photo captured the moment just perfectly.

 I didn't mean to question the great job done by Mattew with this photo. This is no doubt a great photo and deserves to be a POD. You both got a perfect timed shots obviously, but your photo delivers more than that with this crossified no hander and all the crosses behind. It turns into something very special. An absolutely amazing shot. Saying all that, I can't believe your photo didn't get POD yet and this one did it first. Both photos are great, but your photo is a big hit not just for the mountain bike specific photography, but for the photography at all. I'm not a photographer, but I think that the life doesn't give many opportunities for great shots like this one with R-Dog.
