this is where Sasquatch banged me girlfriend and ran off with my jack links beef jerky... never to be seen again, but seeing this bring back good memories. i think they have two hybrid kids and he has got to put up wit the bitch now. that is probably what i hear at night... messing with Sasquatch.

What a nice picture of flowers! Still a nicely composed shot but it could use some adjusting IMO

they're really taking this landscape theme quite far now, i needed to look quite hard to see the rider...

Nice composition, but with a 5D MkIII and that lens this picture should be better than it is. Seems a bit dark to me.

maybe they wanted it to be that way??

I agree and of course everyone has an opinion on these things - that was just my thoughts. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't do any better! : )

I actually like the darkness, but the clairity and sharpness that should come from this lens is not there. i would have probably tried to use a lower ISO. still, a better photo and nicer equipment than I have now.

Lots of photo critics here who have no clue what they are talking about.

@t-turi-mullett ISO has no efect on sharpness until you start pushing things really far (well above 2000 on a 5D MKiii). This was shot at 320 which is already exceptionally low for shooting action, and going lower would change nothing. The shot is "soft" because it is shot at f3.2 and anyone who uses zoom lenses on a regular basis will tell you, wide open apertures tend to be a bit soft when focused on something a good distance away.

The shot is dark because, well, it was dark out at 7:30 am on an overcast day.

Perhaps the photographer (Joey Schusler, who knows what he is doing) WANTED the shot to be dimly lit and a bit softer to give it a certain feel to best capture the moment in front of him? This photo was just one of many that was used to tell a bigger story of a 500 mile bike packing trip on the Colorado Trail so it's safe to assume it is shot this way to fit into a particular part of that story.

If he had wanted to stop down to f5, bump ISO to 1000 and shoot at a faster shutter speed to get the image YOU wanted him to take he certainty would have. But he didn't and that's why we have this beautiful image to enjoy.

Holy shit, why is everyone so offended? I said I LIKED the image. I think it is simply fantastic. I am no photo critic, but i have been taking photography classes in school for four years and I do lots of research and practice in my free time. I am far from being a fantastic photographer, and even farther from owning fantastic equipment like a 5D Mk III or any L lens for that matter. I was just voicing my opinion and don't mind being corrected as long as you don't come across snobbish.

exactly, it creates a certain mood, and that is art, and that is good photography.
