I've done a bit of a bodge... But not sure how safe it is so probably still gonna wait to swap the caliper over. I've noticed the M4 caliper on my DH bike is 3mm narrower than the E4 so that could work. Isn't purple though
Sorry couldn't resist They did away with M4 when they moved from tech Evo to tech 3 lever. Then came out with the E4 caliper which is pretty much the same. Just a different shape and a little bit wider. The machining is more awesome on the E4 as well
I have a set of M4 on my 224 that I could swap out. Problem is they aren't purple!!
To be honest, there isn't much difference between them. Just look a bit different and slightly larger Pistons I think.
This is the biggest issue I've encountered in all my days/months/years working on bikes.
Cheers, I hope it gets sorted out soon as well. Have a couple of options left....if it all massively fails, I'll have to go back to the avid think I'll sell the frame before thay happens.
Some 2 pots are just as powerful as they have larger pistons, just have less modulation. I used to run Hope minis years ago on my bikes which were 2 pot and they stopped me fine.
Here's my M4s when I had them on my old Five. Have black caps on now.
Wow they're hard for me to tell apart, they look fine to me..
Would you not fancy the Sram Guides...I know they're not as nice looking as Hopes but they still look pretty smart..maybe a last resort...
