this is one of my personal favorite photos this month, little bit of rock riding on foggy saturday morning am ride with friends, thanks & photo credit to doel for taking a snapshot with my phone.. cheers, just ride and #funissimple #funtasteam #pedalogy
This photo goes to show that you don't need a $2k camera body and lens to capture a great photo. Love this and it amazes me what a camera phone can do these days!
Totally depends on what you want to do with the photo. As soon as you would like to get something printed you'll run into some limitations with the phone. But I agree, phones are able to get amazing results for such a small device / investment.
Agree that blowing one of these up won't be much good, but my point was that a 'good' photograph isn't down to equipment, but a combination of timing, lighting, composition, objective viewpoint and a bit of luck - although not sure this argument holds up if someone tried submitting a photo from one of the first Nokia camera phones!!
I just got an S6 last week and the camera is fantastic. The field of view it gets is phenomenal. And the colors are so crisp too. And the phone was a free upgrade, so yeah, $2000 is almost unnecessary if you know how to compose a shot and work with what you have. The only issue that arises is when trying to take a fast action shot it gets blurry, but that is no matter for me because I usually don't ride fast enough to get blurry. XD
Big-Col: I agree, the rider position doesn't flow with the rest of the pic. It's still a good pic but from a pure aesthetic standpoint it could have been better. I think if he were coming down the rocks in the bottom right hand corner would have been mint.
