Thanks! Yes, I need it for the space and need to be able to drive with my tailgate open if I load longer beams/boards for trailbuilding. Tried custom welding many bike racks over the years, but just can't seem to find the perfect set-up that works for my needs. One of my issues is that I drive on gravel road approx. 50km's every day from and to my home. The bikes get so dirty when on a hitch rack. This seems to work well so far, I just have to be carful in the bush, as the handlebars stick out a bit.
Not so far, maybe a bit exposed if driving in the woods and just a little more effort to load then some of the bike racks.
Keeps the bikes clean on dirt roads in bad weather and gives me full loading space. I'm not too worried about the truck, so
I just drilled through the side panels and used large washer and good sized bolts to anchor it down.
