There pretty cool on the ice, I had the most epic ride of my life 2 winters ago. It was a mild day the day before, everything melted and the ice was clear of any remaining snow. the following day a flash freeze hit us, with -25 degree weather. I came accross and ice fishermans snowmobile trail for which he towed a small cab-ooze behind which made the most rediculous 2 food wide groomed trail. I kid you not, I was able to complete a 35 km loop into the wilderness. I was even able to utlized a beaver dam between two floods as a jump. By far the most epic scenic ride I have ever done, and the tires where icing on the cake.

 man that sounds awesome! being able to really venture out in those conditions is fantastic, a bit of luck for you finding the trail, snow and ice are the only real show stoppers for me, but with these on, the fun can continue year round. just one extra thing i'd take would be a wee dram of whiskey to warm my cockles!
