Selected by Scott Secco - From a technical perspective this is a difficult photo to take as you need to make sure the rider is in the frame while also allowing for a long enough exposure to capture the northern lights. Great image!

Thanks dude! Forwards actually. Off camera flash was fired at the beginning of the exposure. I tried a lot of different techniques to get it right, this technique seemed to get the best results for what I wanted to accomplish.

It's a long exposure with off camera flash.

Yes. It is Kamloops! If your persistent with monitoring aurora activity you can see them in town more than one would think. I have shot at least 10 good aurora shows in the Kamloops area in 2015.
