I just picked up the new Orbea Occam AM and popped down to the coast next to their factory to test it out. A fun evening on the new bike! Even better to find out that the new bike color matches the 2016 Mavic kit I just got :-) www.basqueMTB.com

Thanks! The hardest bit was stopping my jaw chattering on the steps and triggering the remote and flash! I had a blast riding it a few times thought until I got the shot.

Great shot Doug! Where was the flash positioned in this shot?

cheers jimijazz! It was just in front of me. Below the wall and facing up. I was using the "wifi" flash fire on the Panasonic and was actually quite surprised it connected because normally it´s line of sight but I guess it was bouncing off the far wall.

This makes me want to travel to Spain! Great picture, excellent composition, stunning contrast with the bike and rider. Thoughtful use of equipment, can't get this with a selfie stick haha Smile

Does that church have a name? I was on holiday in the basque region as a kid and that looks very similar to what i can remember.

It´s a bit of a test to get it placed somewhere where you can press it, brake and hold the bars. Mouth isn´t the best!

When you´re winning you´re winning ;-) When are you going to get your first POD Ian? Maybe we should do a shoot in June?

When you stop winning Smile I'd love one but not produced the goods yet. Id love to have a shot in June Smile
I'm lining up to do some shoots at some local DH races for practice...

Undecided whether to bring my XT1 and all the lenses in June - or just the new X70 compact I'm planning to get in the next few weeks. Same sensor, tiny body, fixed lens.

Personally, I'm still a fan of dslr's with a good selection of lenses. I say take the xt1! There is something to be said for the compact form factor of today's mirrorless cameras for riding though... I see your dilemma haha

The XT1 is a mirrorless compact (Fuji's finest) but even that kit, now I have 5 lenses, is a bit big for flying out to an MTB holiday with when you only have one holdall plus your bikebag. And then, do I take my bike backpack or my camera backpack, or both!?!?!?!

X70 has a screw in wide and/or tele converter, which I reckon will be great for those superlight trips.

I see why people like DSLRs and full frames, but really they are a non-starter if you have to carry it all on a bike.

I see what ya mean! Smile

well i'm sure with the back drop n trails Doug has on his doorstep i'd be getting PODs in the same (what seems) effortless fashion
