Can't believe I missed this post.. Beautiful! I love bolt guns, and lever actions have really been growing on me too lately.

Haha I even posted it on the gun thread! Thank you dude, Lotta love for both of them. The bolt is only a .22, but it sure is fun to blast around with. Got it as a cheap training tool as each round is about 75ยข cheaper than the .30-30 and my shoulder likes the .22 more as well lol

No shit? Huh. I don't remember that! f*ckin a haha, I've got a 10/22, and I kind of wish it were a Ruger American (I think.. Their .22 bolt action). That's okay though, because the 10/22 is a staple anyhow!

That's exactly what this is! Ruger American Rimfire, essentially a bolt version of the 10/22, takes the same mags, and figured since the 10/22 garnered so much aftermarket support, maybe this one might too. I have a Blackhawk bipod on it, and a Swift 2-7x40 sight. I want to knock the rear sight off to pull the scope back, but then I'd have to remount it and shit...

 Lol you lazy bastard! Haha

That's cool. How much do they run for, right around $300 ain't it?

Guilty as charged... If I shot it more frequently I wouldn't be so lazy about it, but our local range is shut down for "renovations." That's exactly what it was, before taxes and fees...

Damn. Fuckin a! Might have to pick one up sooner or later. I have a massive list of guns I want. Absolutely massive lol. I'm sure we all do!
  • 1 0
Haha yes I understand. For the most part there's really only 3 more guns I truly want, next being a 1911, but I could come up with a list as long as gods dick.
  • 1 0
lol Well, I've always said that holding a 1911 is like shaking Gods hand..
  • 1 0
Oh yeah, speaking of 1911's.. There are 80% frames for them! Government, Commander, and Officer frames. It's a little daunting, but they're fairly simple to build.

So true, it fits so perfectly in everyone's hand its ridiculous. I still have yet to shoot one though. Go figure I'd shoot a USP45 before a 1911. 80% stuff sounds really cool, never looked into them, I always figured I didn't have the tools.

f*ckin a. Well, with all the popular, lightweight polymer guns out there.. It's not too surprising. The design is over 100 years old now. Still holds its own, but Glocks and the like are just more popular/common these days.

All you really need is a bench press and some hand files.. Ibe heard of some guys building them with plain old hand drills (power, not manual.. Lol) even.

I guess that's true. The USP was awesome and I would totally own one, but I don't much care for Glocks and the likes. Hmm, doing an 80% all of a sudden seems doable, the kits are still a lot of money. I was looking at getting a Para A1.

How much are Para Ordnances going for these days, maybe $400-500? You can build a 1911 for maybe $600 including the jig, and of course more if ya want to fancy her up haha.

80% is totally doable. It's YOURS, you know its workings like no one else, and it can be.. Off list if ya know what I mean. It's not necessarily cheaper than a pre built.. But the satisfaction of building it is worth it alone in my book. Granted, I have yet to build one. But I've done quite a bit of research on them, including reading the instructions for the kits. Nothing a little time, patience, and elbow grease can't achieve! Smile

Hundred or so more for the Para. Huh, all the kits I was seeing were $1k and up, guess I gotta look around more. I'm all in for the uniqueness. Then your have to finish it too, I prefer parkerized, with blued coming in close second. Nothing quite like parkerized or blue and wood.

I've gotta find the sites again, my phone died and took all my damn bookmarks with it, but when I do, I'll pm you some links. Blued seemed to be the most common frame, at about $150 for the frame itself. I think $100 or so for the jig, and stainless bumped the frame up to about $250-300 I think. Parts kits were maybe $300, slide was $100 for a plain ol blued, and a bbl was maybe $80-100, more for match grade of course. Not 100% on these numbers, as I swear I priced a full build at about $600. And agree about the blued/parkerized and wood.. Drool

Sounds good man! I'd love to build one. Maybe before I can't anymore...
  • 1 0
Fuck yeah! And I agree... Scary to think what could happen after November.,
  • 1 0
Ugh... I'm so over that... Whole different conversation to be had on it.
  • 1 0
 Yup! Fuck that noise!
  • 1 0
 45/70 or 30-30 lever action?
  • 1 0
Just a .30-30, .45-70 would be rad, maybe one day. .30-30 is already hard enough on the wallet.
  • 1 0
 Cool, none the less!
  • 1 0
Thanks, man, I do love it and can't wait to try out the new scope.
  • 1 0
That black one looks evil we must ban it..........................
  • 1 0
Razz right? Wait till I get an extended magazine.

Wait, they're illegal... Frown

so how is the pocket book after the long eye relief scope? I priced one for my Thompson Contender and decided it was not worth it. lol

Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x32 Scout for $150 on OpticsPlanet.com, so not too bad. The glass and construction seems really damn nice too, but no long term, this picture was taken right after getting it mounted.
