DB is a brand that sorta fell into my lap... I had been buying from Seattle Bike Supply for the Redline products and Torkers. DB was brought in somewhere along the way. I don't care much for the low-end bikes they sell. I see them at places like REI, Dick's Sporting and I think EMS used to stock them. The low-end stuff needs to stay in China but, the nicer bikes are pretty damn nice. I had the DB8 built as a shop demo twice. Loved it... Bought it cause, at the time, the Transition Tr500's were sold out and I just wanted something like the Tr. The DB8 is a lot like the Tr.. it doesn't give travel and the long/short wheel base options like the Tr but, it rides really well stuck on 200mm. It handles both 26" and 27.5" wheels just fine too (just like the Tr500's)
I have seen the Mission's in person and sold just a couple. Really dig em.. they're sorta a mini Tr500 if you look how the suspension works. and the Release, that's just a cool little rig. I really like that bike. I think the only thing that really holds me back buying a Release is the "boost". I'm wishy washy about that spec. I have some inner doubt whether that spec is here to stay. I totally get the concept but, is it gonna stick.

Man, F that... ROFL I just sold my Mission... Still not happy about that, really. I'm looking at building a Canfield Bros and buying a DB Catch 2 later, but I'm completely bike-less for the first time in 16 years. Good spec though! I like what I'm seeing from DB.

might be a tick off on the DB spec sheet.... looking at the write, it reads more on the SRAM end of things but, the pic and the spec sheet lower on the DB Mission page says it's mostly ShiTmano stuff:
Made for riders who are looking to knock out as many trail miles as they possibly can, the Mission Two is the quintessential all mountain bike. It all starts with a robust hydroformed aluminum frame with our famous KnuckleBox suspension and a beefy thru-axle, keeping it solid and flex-free. Fox handles the bumps, with a Float 36 fork and Float Evol LV rear shock each providing 160mm of travel. The SRAM GX 1×11 drivetrain stays silent whether you’re pedaling or coasting, free of chain-slap and a pesky front derailleur. Easton Arc 27.5” wheels and tubeless-ready Schwalbe Hans Dampfs grab every last bit of traction on the trail, and stopping power comes from hydraulic SRAM brakes with 180mm rotors. With a dropper post standard, there really isn’t a bike that competes at this level. The Mission Two is absolutely equipped to exceed your expectations.
Hand built All Mountain 160mm travel 6061-T6 aluminum frame with KnuckleBox suspension is super stiff and ultra durable
Single-sided hardware on three main pivot points allows convenient bearing access
FOX 36 Float front and rear suspension is a staple for all mountain riding
SRAM GX 1x11 delivers wide range of gears for any terrain
