Looking good dude! bet you can't wait to build it up. Out of curiosity how come you have gone with such thick wall tubing? Is it just mild steel rather than chromoly? Weld wise I'd say it looks like you're running a little hot, that or your gas flow isn't right. What settings were you running? Also what size filler rod you using?

Yeah it's still 4130 but it was miles cheaper to use thicker stuff and also saves me money as if I muck this one up I haven't ruined £200 of tubing

Yeah we dod decide it was a little hot for definite, think we were running around 37 amps something like that

1.6 filler rod and no pressure flow because the machine doesn't have the ability too

Basically doing some practice welded Nd then trying to break them. To make sure it's going to hold up. How did you stick those tubes together?

oh right yeah done that, t joints and then a 6 ft steel bar through them to try and break them, some broke the tubes others wouldn't budge Smile

these are tig welded good level of penetration as well just ugly af beeds lol

I just do not want you getting hurt. People have been telling me the same about my geo and front end failure. And that is with clean decent welds.

yeah I have a gusset for the front of mine as i was slightly concerned about that but my tubing is twice as thick as usual, top tube is 1.2mm thick, downtube is 1.5mm thick and seatube is 1.7mm thick and stays are 1mm thick
