This looks cool a 20" fully suspension I found walking in the city for a brief moment!
I wonder how fun this would be with a proper DJ fork????

Thats cool! Here in Japan its a very popular bike brand, Hiroyo's bike is a Louis Garneau. I have always wondered how to pronounce his name correctly. In Japanese they say it like," Looy Ganoou"
Really so this style mini bike is popular? Thats awesome, when I first saw it I instantly thought longer fork and city FR!

 @nikoniko:
Many parents are happy to shell out thousands of $ to have their kids shredding with style.
Lil Shredder is quite popular.

I believe it and to tell you the truth if I had the cash I would do the same.
Even though it kind of goes against my moral inner being, it makes sense with the speed and quality of trails as my bikes are easily thousands of dollars, hahahah
I do however think Jax's current Giant is plenty to learn a lot on but it was just 350$.
We got out for 2 nice rides last week and he had a lot of fun.
He is into rugby now and our free time is limited more than before!

@nikoniko: lets face it we could all have a blast on a good inexpensive hard tail.
A bike is a luxury.
When the kids grow out of the super cool mini sus bikes. The parents put the bike up for sale.
Huge waiting list for eager parents to aquire sweet used bikes for the kids.
It benefits everyone.

Rugby is a tough sport.
Im glad Jax is into many sports.
Keeps him active and strongSmile

Thank you, he is aspiring to be an athlete.
He does gymnastics, Karate and soccer once a week each and then rugby on the weekends with a proper team. All his own ideas. I personally want to ride with just Jax right now, Im not into the big group rides much anymore.

You are correct, a simple hard tail does a lot, mostly everything!!
I really wish we had a better used market here, the garage sale idea simple just doesn't exist here. It would be too shameful to sell your used items to others and embarrassing to expose yourself in such a manner. Confused

Jax loves his bike and slowly we will test it and help him encourage its beauty. He has the balance and natural skill but just lacks the simple bike time. It would be cool if my work and his school schedule matched in a way that we could go for rides together everyday after school. Big Grin

@nikoniko: A garage sale is actualy a very personal thing. You are revealing much about your personal life this way.
North Americans have no idea what privacy is so we dont care.
Japanese are more careful in their actions.
At times too reserved.
Is there any form of market for used goods in Japan?

You want to spend more riding time with your son. Must be a bit frustrating.
If your riding is about personal discovery and adventure than i find riding solo or with one good buddy is the best.
I have not done a group ride in months. No worries.

Perhaps as Jax matures he will see that mountain biking is the ultimate sport hahahaahahahahah.
Then he will be very eager to ride with his dad Smile

@Sshredder: That would be great!!! He likes riding so thats not a problem!
After our ride last Sunday he told mommy later he had a lot of fun, that makes me smile!
I have always had the most fun riding with one or two buddies and solo as opposed to big groups too.
Recently my buds are just into shuttling runs and that actually gets boring for me!

There are recycle shops here in Japan, which is quite popular.
But unlike a second hand store people can't donate things. Instead when a house is abandoned usually because the last owner has died, the recycle shop gets paid to come in a clean out the house. They then keep all the goods which they might be able to re-sale. Most of my tools I have purchased from the recycle shops. I grew up around many garage sales and always enjoyed them as a kid but your right there is a different aspect of caring or exposing your personal life.

The culture here would rather just throw things away or burn them instead of trying to sell it off, unless its something big like a car or motorcycle. I don't know if I would say they are more careful in their actions, this is true but culturally they feel more restricted and embarrassed making most very passive aggressive. Which has its benefits at times but as a teacher makes it difficult trying to invoke engagement in the class room or to carry a meaningful conversation.

One aspect where this cultural instinct is terrible in my opinion is when a woman is being groped on the bus or train. I bring this up in class for my high school and adults students as its a big problem here. All of the women say, they are too scared and embarrassed to say anything and would just let it happen. One lady now elder said its happened to her 3 times and she was paralyzed. Another thing is if someone is being harmed most people would just pretend its not happening rather than trying to help, this too is kind of odd to me. But at the same time unlike North Americans you never see the overly raged person out of control, which is a good thing. Smile

I remember just about every combination of two wheel vehicles I've ever seen. That is a funny looking little machine that would be extremely easy to park

I think it was made for just that, a city dweller who loved mountain bikes where parking is not so spacious! We had to go to the big city for Jax's passport renewal and as we were walking back to the car this caught my attention. I can imagine how this could be super fun both kids and adults!
