@therealtylerdurden: that's what's so appealing about Canon City to us. Lots of open space / public lands. Virtually non existent in Texas other than our state parks...
@keithrad: exactly! AZ is the same way. Pull off the interstate and you're legal to do wtf you want! It's honestly kinda sad TX is that way, it really surprised me when I lived there.
@therealtylerdurden: That's badass!! It's cool that AZ has that luxury... I guess the whole "4 corners" region is that way! We never realized these places existed until traveling there for ourselves...And I have to tell you that freaking rocked our world. I love Texas, BUT it's f*cking sad indeed. I don't think it was as bad when I was very young...But recently I took my wife and daughter out to Lake Benbrook to an area my (hippy) parents used to go back in the early 70's to "chill out" with their friends. It was still there but now you have to pay to drive around to those beachfront areas! Same as when we drove down to FIVE8FIVE's neck of the hill country to visit Lake Travis down by Austin. Went there as a kid, hung out by the lake. But now you can't get anywhere near the lake without having to pay someone This is a MAJOR reason for leaving here and going there!! Even if I have to only have 15 round mags...
@keithrad: Hell yeah! Kinda funny, the eastern two lean moderately to heavily to the left, and the western two lean moderately to heavily to the right. All 4 are f*cking beautiful though! Haha! I can imagine the elation! All of 'Murica should be that way!!!
Haha, yeah, 15 round mags is a small price to pay for that kind of freedom. Can't even imagine not having open land! I honestly couldn't live without it. At least CO isn't as bad as CA or NYC re: guns!!!
