Halfway between Canon City and Salida CO.on the Arkansas River. This was a blast to do on a whitewater raft!! ( Although this spot in particular is calm compared to some others )

@keithrad: rocks are the best!!! Smooth and flowy is fun, but you can't beat rocks! When ya make it to AZ, 5 minutes from downtown is South Mountain, with over 1000' of vert! Tons of trails, paved road to the top, long, not particularly steep trails, but basically a nonstop 2 mile rock garden on some trails. It's badass! That's where I started downhilling, on a hardtail dirt jumper. I was about mid-front pack in a group of 20 guys after just a couple months. Tons of sketchy rock rolls, jumps, drops.

I hope to own some acreage about 40 miles outside of phoenix within the next couple of years in the Hieroglyphic mountains, about 15 dirt road miles from the ponderosa forests of the Bradshaw mountains, and eventually a house near south mountains for the weekends to be near the shuttle-able trail centers. Then I can shoot a high powered rifle from my front door on the weekdays (and maybe build a moto track in the front yard!!), and ride my bike to the trails on the weekends! That's the goal!!

@therealtylerdurden: That sounds like a great plan man and it's what I'm chasing now. Being right close to what I dig and also being near enough to other diverse areas that offer different conditions for different loves. Moto -check, biking -check, water / river sports - check, shooting -check, etc. etc. Sounds like pure bliss!

I suck on rocks! But I do still love being around them especially if gravity is on my side. But when there's climbing involved it usually means there's a hard left turn at the bottom, followed by some ridiculous stairstep maneuver with another momentum killing turn at the top with just enough rock angles sticking up everywhere to try and grab my low pedal stroke and catapult me back down the entire obstacle! I encountered plenty of that to know it will challenge me for years to come out at Canon City!

@keithrad: hell farking yes!!! I'd deal with an apartment for staying in town on the weekends. I feel like living in bfe, it'll be a little tough to get ladies to come with me on an hour long drive to my pad until they get to know me, ya know? But hell, maybe I'll be married by then. Either way, can't live with em, but sure as shit can't live without em either!!

Hahaha!! Maybe I can help ya get used to rocky terrain. I will say though, rocky climbs require insane amounts of often trials-like skill. I like bombing down better.

@therealtylerdurden: get busy on finding a good woman. Many benefits to that if that's what you're looking for! Make sure she's an outside kinda girl too!
My uncle used to say, and this is a bit dated now, "Women.....they got 50% of the money, and 100% of the pu$$y..." I know I love em!!!
Let the haters hate now...

@keithrad: that'd be ideal! And an outside kinda gal is a must.
Hahaha, your uncle sounds like a good guy. f*ck the haters!
