That's a road bike. Dude that makes it is from Seatle or Portland. Saw one of his bikes at Iron man (2 bros were doing it) made of BAMBOO, totally sweet, cool idea. He even grows his own bamboo. Real expensive though. Bet that one compares price wise like a Huffy to a Haro. Now the bamboo is unevenly shaped, but is closed, I'm just thinking on a road bike how much wind resistance is that open design going to create. And don't give me the "Golf ball dimple" BS those are BIG open holes. Bet it screams louder than that ISO matrix MTB in one of the other segments.
i guess it's ridable because if not, nobody would put chris kings in it ;P and i guess that it costs lots of money and is more rigid and more strong than anything else in the world... still nobody will ride it ;P
Looks like welded metal to me... I don't know how you could make CF effective with so many changes in direction. Plus trying to keep it that way after vacuum sealing it and cooking it in an autoclave would be damn near impossible.
I'm guessing it's carbon. If I had to guess, I'd say it's pre-preg that was wrapped, woven, twisted, and what not, then expanded from the inside with a bladderto set the tension and shape. Or maybe it was wrapped around a mold from the start, with no expansion. Either way, it's definitely carbon.
