I picked this up used and this is how it was built other than the pedals, stem and bars which I swapped. This is my new exercise recovery bike so for road this thing is fun, the guy also gave me regular 26" wheels with it so I can just swap wheels for mountain use too! It looks funky but screams with speed!
Its fun man! Im liking it!
Trekking and getting my legs stronger, I can feel it just after 2 weeks of city shredding.
Its been kind of rainy and gloomy these last 2 weeks which makes a rad atmosphere to observer the living city around me!
Really? So all the FR street videos I did in the past are worthless? ahhahahhahhaha This is new to me too but for helping my shoulder recover I like it! At least it has DH like geometry, look at how raked out the head is!
I was just kidding! I have never had a road bike and have always road mountains but this new bike is fun and great to limit myself from jumping things! I did a nice night ride last night in the crisp autumn air!
Hummmmmm.... Im thinking maybe around 2013-14 or so....
It has identical geometry to the 456 I'm riding so, one is XC DH and this one is XC Road! hahahahahah
Good for exercise around the city. I like the road tires as they excel fast and roll great but limits my options while riding! All in good fun!
Im not sure the size, they were on the bike as is when I got it from my buddy! But the front wheel only has about 5mm between the arch and the tire, hahahaha so these rims are not 26" for sure but its working as is so, Im happy!
@nikoniko: they look like 700c or 29" which is what you want on the road. Pump those tires up to 80psi and hit top speed! If you had a rigid fork you'd be flying even faster. Maybe throw a flat bar on there. I love the franken-bike builds. Super fun. I remember a couple of years ago On One had a fat bike with road wheels and drop bars. It was pretty awesome.
Oh WOW now you are talking! That would be a great bike to have, then you could swap from fat tires and change the stem and bars then you are ready for the mountains! Very cool!
There was a flat bar on there to begin with but Im liking this set up now, I have never really rode a rode bike before and it would take some more time for me to get used to. Tires are pumped to the max and I was a bit leery at first but it rolls and feels good! The marz fork has lockout and feels good open or locked, I think I like having the fork on their so I can still have a little fun! ahahahah But if I want to make this a serious road rider then all the upgrades you mentioned would be very nice! Im sure Onone has some good rigid forks that would work great!
hahahahhahahahhahahah I love my wife's plump round boobies and bum, but shhhhhh you didn't hear that from me! I have some old holly rollers Im going to put on here as after a handful of rides the skinny tires just feel too wobbly for me. I have enough bikes now and think a fat beauty will be in the future, I deserve it but will thrash this for now!
I always think you feel every pebble right through those skinny tires up the frame and into your back... no give at all. Fast as heck for roads and paths though.
Yep, I have my other HT with a 170mm fork and fat tires!
This is a new adventure for me!
To attack the urban city, blaze a bowl and go on my lunch break!
Im liking it so far, and I really need to get my sprits back up to mentally heal my body!!
@nikoniko: Sounds like a blast,Things will be looking up in no time, sometimes a good bike ride can make you realize the good in life. May the force be with you.
I just hope she will see some gnarly trails one day
