That's a 1996 model, don't even think they were still around in 2007.

That is correct. They stopped in 2001, I think.

I have this in my garage right now, the control tech team issue. Yeah control tech made these frames in Kent, WA, they also made some of the Ibis Szazbo's

Correct - it is a '96, and the last model year for the Sweet Spot bikes at Schwinn was 1999.

1996 or 1997? I had a 1996 and it had the smaller diameter pivot at the union between front and rear triangles. It was my understanding that the 1996 models were made by ControlTech for Schwinn.

I wish I had never sold my 1998 S-Carbon. It fit me as perfect as any bike I'd ever had. Besides the fact that it sucked as a full suspension design, the unified rear triangle made for an awesome "soft-tail".
