I need to know more about these forks! How does the rim brake make contact with the rim under compression?

The blue alloy uppers must slide on the black upper tubes as the lower stanchions compress? I just can’t see how the blue uppers are tied in with the lower sliders.

I'm waiting to see how the brakes work under compression too. Does the blue section slide up the black bits at the top too? So basically like a normal fork, but also a USD fork?
