Don't be sad. Forest fires are healthy and an important part of the forest ecosystem.

Ooof sorry bud. Just checked your location. Probably shouldn't be trying to get a Californian stoked on wildfires...

@north-shore-bike-shop: saved my parents property/house a couple of times...100+ feet of clearance and sneaking in on 4X only roads to put sprinklers on blankets/rugs on the leading edge of their house and on the propane tank. Fire fighters used it as a safe zone twice!

Literally the only bad part about a wildfire is the personal property that gets caught in it.

 Cool photo.
Can keep the "secret trail" to yourselves though - looks dusty AF.

Yes because dust explosions and drifty fast sections are so undesirable...lmao

@nvranka: a wildfire blasting through your trail network isn't worth the ash explosions while you ride and those drifty fast sections get blown out in a few runs since all the mature organic material in the ground got burnt out leaving them unsupported. Speaking from experience, it's not desirable.

@juicebanger: Where was I saying that I want my trails to burn so I can have the same dirt? Just going out on a limb here, but I'd say Ollie didn't spark the fire that effected these trails either.

Some of my local trails caught fire about a month ago and while we were all sad to see it, it is what it is, and some of us had fun ripping the moon dust.

@nvranka: two things: try riding that with anyone else. Be eating dust the whole time and I don't think it would be enjoyable. Second, I just don't really like the "secret trail" stuff. Good for the riders, I guess, but it always seems holier-than-thou to call it that. They could just write "cache creek" or whatever, but these photogs always seem to like making sure we all know that it's secret and only for them.

@ldhbaker: only put secret because it’s not actually a trail. We built the line in as a one off, purely for the photo.

@ldhbaker: many secret trails here...and a Secret Trail brewing Co. - awesome. I'd say secret tails have an important place in the biking community.
