Recycling day at North Shore Bike Shop. We’ve had a busy year so maybe we let this pile up a few more months than we should have, but we keep virtually everything out of the landfill. Not pictured here is the thousands of tires and tens of thousands of tubes we pay $$$ to recycle, the thousands of pounds of cardboard we recycle daily, and the thousands of pounds of metal waste we ensure goes to the proper recycling channels. Our staff takes home their compost for composting, so we produce one small garbage bag in 1-2 weeks. This is just another way that your LBS is an important member of your community. No apartment building or private residence has access to the resources necessary to recycle all the shipping material involved with bikes, bike parts/accessories, and used up parts.
