I have the exact same bike...almost, I have a Auron fork. Planning on coming from KY to Moab and had planned on bringing my 18 Specialized Enduro, but after reading your post I am reconsidering! BTW, what tires are you running? I was planning on Ardents. Probably do TWE, Mag 7 (minus Gold Bar and Portal) and maybe Ahab. Indeed a fantastic bike, only reason I was thinking Enduro was figured I needed extra travel.

Rad! Magic Mary(is that a thing? I think so) up front, DHR II out back. Superb tire combo out here. A little much on the pure slick rock but great in the sand as it dries out.

Honestly man, I had a process 153 and prefer this unless I'm riding porqupine rim, WE, etc. And need a bike to just plow. If you've got the Geo slacked out a bit, this thing is money out here. That Said, I live here so I'm not crushing huge miles every day like you would on a trip. By the end of a big day, I'm worked and the forgiveness of some more travel may be worthwhile. My gut tells me bring the big guns since youll be new to the trails (takes a few laps to figure out the flow), and a couple trails would do well with plow-ability and forgiveness.
Can't go wrong either way. Have a hoot out here. A little beta; TWE is going to be pretty late to coming in top to bottom. Heaps of snow up in the mountains this year. Also, ride Ahab. One of my faves out here

We rented a 153 in Co last fall, its certainly a lot bigger bike than the 111 in the same size so I can see how you would like that being 6'4, almost up a size. My large Enduro feels about the same size as the XL 111. Thanks for the feedback, I can't wait to get back out there, its been a couple of years and I only did Brand and Slickrock then, I hope I have sharpened my skills enough to handle Ahab and TWE. I did Monarch Crest while in Co and didn't have any problems, its just so different out here. If anyone is looking at this bike its a winner, I have bought about 4 bikes since I have owned this one but won't let this one go.
