Time for a rebuild...how did it just self destruct like that? Did it have a lot of play before hand?

No dice on rebuild. Body pulled out over the bolt that was supposed hold it on. No play, just very shot, crunchy bearings beforehand. I was descending and blew my foot off the pedal, only the pedal came with it...
