Thanks! Actually never ridden in a velodrome in my life haha... just build and ride track bikes for fun. There aren't any tracks near where I live, so my track bikes are just street machines . Hence the reason I build this one with a much slower gear ratio than normal... it is a beast for sliding and wheelies

 @Philitup: cool it’s the one discipline I have never gotten into myself. Sorry I thought I was speaking to someone else so my comment may seem out of context with the burnaby velodrome thing.

 @north-shore-bike-shop: No worries. And yes, it's a very entertaining discipline to say the least. Fixed-gears offer a certain ride-feel and connection to the bike that no other discipline does. They also can be some of the cleanest builds due to not needing derailleurs, brakes or cables.
