 In a way I agree, in another way I sit in front of TV or Ipad and hope I won’t die as a sour prick... it’s a good dark humor but damn... at least they were not dead inside

 @WAKIdesigns: agree, kinda wish I had more faith in humanity and a view of life so full of light as those guys! but well they became blinded by the same light..... what a f*cking shithole this place is becoming

 @its-chris: ehh... come on, review the history of humanity for no more than 100 years back. We're god damn well off. When it comes to developing countries people are also getting higher quality of life. Stop reading news man especially the cess pit sites like pluralist.com. I strongly recommend tanksgoodnews on insta... and you will know how fkd up we all are by the negative media culture when reading tanks site and realizing in how horrific disbelief you are and how cheesy it seems while negative cynical channels seem like "the real truth". Idea that we should not put on the pink happy glasses while vieweing it through slimy brown is right, is just as delusional as this couples' act to travel into a territory patroled with saveages that will kill you for not being Muslims, right kind of Muslims to be precise. Life's good for quite a lot of people. Much better than in 1970s. Nobody tells you that there are no Red Khmers slaughtering people in Kambodia. That Putin unlike Stalin doesn't starve millions of people to death and doesn't send remaining millions to Gulags, while putting psychopaths into power to torture those who survived. An idea that leftists cannot cope with. They all see awful capitalism and imminent environmental disaster, when I listen to them it's almost like they aregoing to sleep hoping they will wake up in a desolated world where rivers are filled with oil, tidal waves crush coastal cities and transsexuals are burned on stakes, while it is them who would be the first to pick up pitch forks and lanterns if a major disaster would set us 200 years back. It would be the ethical lefties organizing field courts and public executions of people related to "fossil fuels" or meat production. Cheer up, after all these two experienced mostly hospitality on their way through wrld's "most dangerous" countries Smile

 @WAKIdesigns: I read that too but news is a story or a great story ,sadly. I don't think they they made the smartest move and it went bad for them .The same thing can happen in Toronto ,wrong place at the wrong time but then it wouldn't be worth adding adding anymore to the story. Life is good for some people but not better than 1970s or any other time .Just make up some super hero's and everything is fine.

 @leftofcentre:

not better than 1970s? ask Black people in US, people in Eastern block, South Americans, Russians, South Africans, folks in Africa in general (that’s before Red Cross came there, and no they were not respectful hunter gatherers before Apple came to Congo).then let’s ask people in Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey. Let’s ask humanity in general, standing on the edge of stone age via nuclear annihilation. 1970 was a very modest measure. Let’s go back to 1950s, even more civil wars and super powers grabbing land, stirring the pot with divide and conquer.1942? 1917? We can talk war, but we can also talk the world with or without penicillin. I come from Poland, a country of many who are living in a nightmare dressed up as a day dream of lost greatness. My wives family is an excellent example of a contagious carcinogenic schizophrenia, 2nd world war left an awful mark on them, grandfather, a chemistry professor lost his arm in Warsaw uprising, it is still echoing even through my wife. Yet... Her family speaks so fondly of times of war, heroes, intelligence, manners, respect - they completely fail to realize that same ideologically charged climate building all those noble values allowed humans to justify raising concentration camps. Because noble values are not universal and as we see with ISIS, butchering people can be made noble and heroic.

What else... in 1970s we did not have cat memes, meaning, we didn’t have internet. We didn’t have a network connecting us all, allowing immediate access and exchange of information. Nothing changed humanity for the better more than this. I can no longer tell you some bullshit without you being able to check it near instantly. Like docs like Expelled or Game Changers - so noble, yet manipulated as hell. The cause justifies the means.

I have been there in toxic cynicism camp, leaving Poland and moving to Sweden then working with Canadian coach allowed me to be less acidic. It’s all an illusion, it’s all how you look at the world, nobody demands you to wear shades or pink or yellow glasses. But you may as well... always look on the briiiight side of life Smile

This couple looks genuinely happy, happier than I am, and they did something really ballsy. Was it worth seeing cars pull up, people picking up knives and butcher you? At least in the case of one of them seeing their loved one butchered first? I think so... it highly possibly took short time.
