I had a lot of fun on my Spark 720+. My only gripes were low bottom bracket and long seat tube. It was a lot of fun with 29x2.3s though.

Still trying to dial suspension, but bottom bracket height is yet to be an issue. Granted, no trails have been ridden yet. I'm sure I'll be fine and won't notice it as much as you did since it's the first real bike in a long time.
