Is this seating the bead with lighter fluid to avoid using a high volume pump? Apparently you can strip off internal rubber with the fire before it burns out internally and I imagine it could weaken a carbon rim too for the same reasons... Did you find any bits of rubber inside after you took the tire back off or any carbon damage?
