dude, that's sweet. I see these old Schwinns and man I sure miss my old Stingrays. I had three of them. All built up out of pieces scavenged from trash piles and bike shop junk bins. I'd love to have them back

Yeah me too. I had a blue Sting Ray that I began "upgrading" in the late 70's and added MX style bars and seat to "moto" it up. It got set aside when the BMX craze began for the Mongoose etc. If only...

We'd take the shoes out of the rear hub after school on a Friday, put spare cranks on with a bigger chainring, then hang around street corners and yell shit at the High School kids (who had cars...) that night. Of course they'd whip around and chase us on our bikes. We're ducking through yards and down alleys and shit, ripping around trying not to get caught...all with no brakes...! f*cking good times
