I'm just waiting now supposedly about 6-7 weeks for the eagle to land! Buying my chainring, bars, pedals, derailleur, all that crap before it gets here.
If you guys were any closer I'd be handing out cigars.
@kinny-pb: Dude you know how that feels. And my big concern since I now have to wait, is how long ARE they going to make me wait? They estimated around 7 weeks. I'm crossing my fingers... but NOT holding my breath!
Can't find a Chameleon AL D build in yellow size XL in stock anywhere. LBS had one, and the 2 days after I was in there I called to leave a deposit and it SOLD :o( so now I play the waiting game..
Don't worry, I'll take pic's of me doing very naughty things to it behind the boat house! Don't tell my Stumpjumer, that bike is very jealous.
@kinny-pb: Indeed The way things have been w/the bike industry, I figure less than 2 month wait isn't that bad. When I went to test-ride it was love-at-first-"sit"! Ordering parts & upgrades now--those things are like the bridal shower gifts
@ScaryGuiTarS: Tell me about it dude. I spent lots on my old bikes. My new road bike hasn't been upgraded though, although I might get a carbon fork and lighter wheels before summer for long rides.
@kinny-pb: This new expense has tapped me out for a while! The build w/the better forks was like $600 more! Honestly I'd rather have Rockshox than FOX on this, so I'll spend the extra $$ (££) on the extras I'd get anyway, and later on I'll upgrade to a 35mm Rockshox like a PIKE or something. Don't need it that hefty 'cause I have the Stumpy for those trips.
What's your "new" roadbike? Let's see, upload a pic or two. Don't you ride gravel & XC too??
@kinny-pb: Love that all black stealthy look. That's a pretty mean lookin' roadie. But see, you HAVE had some dirt bikes.. so.. We may not totally convert you but at least you get why MTBers have so much fun
Hey only a few little upgrades to that roadbike and you're all set. Even w/the expense, I still enjoy personalizing my bikes. Really that's a huge part of the fun. Things are so expensive though, it's tough trying to get it perfect. I have to sell my Pitch hardtail to cover expenses for the new Santa Cruz.
@ScaryGuiTarS: Thanks dude. Yeah, I may get a carbon fork and maybe bars and seat post for it soon. Maybe a lighter wheelset if I can find some used and decent ones. Definitely saving up for a second hand XC bike in the future. I have plenty of countryside dirt tracks to ride on in my local area.
I'm sure you'll love the Santa Cruz. I've heard good things about them throughout the years.
And HERE it is!!!
