this picture has to be a POD, and it is fisheye. the log just curves away from you in the picture, and the background shows it too. look at the top right for example.
It looks like someone pushed the trail at the top and curled it all! hahaha, great pic! grat background! and the trail looks pretty fun!! props to the rider, to the photographer and to the trail builder!!
For Video footage, get a copy of NS Extreme 7 or 8, the line gets ridden in one of those movies.
The trail hardly gets ridden anymore, it will be falling apart now, those lines were made for filming the movie, more than as permanent lines.
Oh, and towards the bottom of the picture, the steps get tighter and harder to ride, plus the drop off to the right, you will fall about 20 feet down the steep slope (see cliff) with lots of rocks to break your fall.
The rider in the picture is at about the last safe bail out point, he can lean against the stump and stop there. It takes killer balls to even roll onto that stunt, it takes mad skills to ride the whole thing including the 15 foot tech drop at the end (not in picture).
We started down GMG a few minutes after the ambulance drove up the road to pick up my buddy when he knocked his teeth out and broke his arm on Jerry Rig. They offered to take his bike, so myself and the guy in the photo kept riding.
Check out the movies NS Extreme 7 or 8 (I'm not sure which one it's in), but the Flow Show guys hit up GMG, there is some crash footage on that stunt from the first couple tries, then they nail it.
Wicked trail, lots of skinny's with some super steep lines and old school roots, rocks and rolls. Scared the crap out of me, I did a lot of walking.
Its on Fromme but I think it's either torn down or going to be torn down. Trails like this one people used to ride on XC hardtails back in the day. A friend of mine rode most of that trail on a fully rigid just for shits.
