Looks like its a series of rapid prototype powder builds. It's kind of like a big ink jet printer that sprays glue into a super smooth bed of layered power. Layer by layer and pass by pass it's built. After, you can add coloration and then fix it in a sort of superglue bath.
Just a note, I've done some rapid prototyping using this powder process and laser paper builds also. I've seen plastic matrix builds and the basic process too. Hope this answers some questions.
