I would need to see that to believe it! Even if it is, there must be a reason for it and it must work, since I haven't heard any complaints of their cartridges coming appart!
The number of Marz. forks that come into the shop I go to is absolutely appauling...
I have seen a few of my friends have broken their "older" Boxxers this season but Ive also seen a couple of broken F40s.. But the ### of Marz. 55s', 66s' and 888s' is redonkulous!! Blown Air catridges, Sheared tubes, Snapped lowers.. Theyre never a "simple" fix with Marz. outrageously shitty customer service too!..
If Id were in the market for a new fork... 1. RS 2. Fox 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.RST 10.Marzocchi
Why do you think this seasons build on my bike features a RS Totem?? I got rid of that 66 the fastest I could! From the get-go it was a peice of crap.. The first hour I was riding that 66 it was already spewing oil!..
If your a Marz. fanboy than thats good for you!.. From whats written on this page.. Your wrong buddayyy!
Hey alls I know, is Learn from the past! I stick with that that has given me the best of luck, and stay away from those that have failed for me!
If you can't see the sense in this, then you got no common sense what so ever!
just because you have been riding for 10 years doesnt mean you know EVERYTHING. you obviously haven't ridden a rockshox fork if you think they suck. especially a boxxer. i guarantee you have never ridden one.

That's because, they don't need to, since you can go buy one of the old ones for dirt cheap, and they're still reliable! No need to make any new ones 'till all the old ones are gone! LOL But then at the rate boxxers fail, they better be poppin' out a thousand a day! LOL
sorry buddy but i was simply stating that even monster Ts break. we all know there are pictures of boxxers broken, but then again the monster T weighs 13lbs, thats about twice the boxxer and who in the right mind would dh race with a monster and plan on winning anyway? The boxxer got in the top three at every world cup this year, marzocchi didnt get top three once, that says something about each of these companies. Oh and on another note, who won the redbull rampage last year? and on what fork was it won on?
I don't know the answers to those questions... I don't pay attention to the races and other events. I have a history of breaking lots of bikes/parts, and when I did it was very painful! For this reason, when I see a product with the failure rate of a Boxxer, I simply stay away from it for my own good... If others want to risc it on these faulty products, after the hundreds of pictures of proof, then go right ahead, and when you're laying in a hospitol bed, don't cry a single tear to me!
Ok obviously no one is going to change your mind, and same for me. Clearly you like to just post on random pictures about how boxxers suck and how horrible they are, and yes there are defects every once in a while with EVERY product but the truth is, companies wouldnt sell a fork that just magically breaks all the time, you act like marzocchi products are perfect, which they are clearly not (especially with their newer line) and that the guys at rs are murdering people, chill.
why dont u ppl shut up about wat fork is better its watever ur comfortable with if someone likes marz. then let them get a marz. but if someone likes something else so be it i ride an 06 88 its fine for me and i have had no problems with it so its w/e someone likes
WAIT A MINUTE!!! You're telling me, that fork has the full name on the stanchion, even though, half of it's covered up?!!!!! What the hell is the point of that???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey sammo, wouldn't that then mean that because people ride huffy's with rst's, that they're not crap? DUH just bcuz people pay for it, don't make it good!
Besides, have you not seen the dozens of picture of boxxers snapped in half?
Maybe not for you, but to me a fork that fails that badly that often, is a CROK!
Either way, you ride what P.O.S. you want, and I'll stick w/the best(FOX/MARZOCCHI)!
marz are VERY cheaply built and there customer service is very poor the same goes for fox. after working in a shop i see more issues with new commers like your self bring in there marz/fox products all messed.
if you want fine race inspired adjustments you ride a boxxer. yes technicly marz is lower matance then a boxxer (that doesnt count for fox) but the work needed to keep the boxxer in 100% working order is nothing. people who are total hacks like yourself do not have an understanding the meaning of fine adjustment and proper set up.
boxxers snaped in half? the last dramatic boxxer failure like that (that ive seen) was an 05 model. since the refinment of the casting and motion control the boxxer has been a great sucess and has out sold both marz(888 series) and fox(40 series). manitou is out of the question for sure as they crash there business.
NEW COMMER...? Get real! I been riding mountain bike(of the higher-end) for ten years now! I was one of the first to get the Judy100(their first 4" S-C), and that thing and all the other CROKSHOX I've owned were P.O.S. 6" MECHANICAL disk brake, left lowwer tube, snapped in half just above the mount!
Meanwhile, I've had '00 Z1-CR, '01 Z3-QR20, '02 Monster-t, '01 Jr-t, '03 Z1-FR, '03 DJ1, and '05 66RC. And only one prob(not even my prob), a blown Compression, cartidge on the Z1-CR, And ever though I bought it USED, they replaced it for FREE!!! The some awesome customer service in my book, got me hook on that brand!
Also, just got my first FOX forx(the f-80X at that), and not experieced a single problem that everyone complains of with these!
You say Marzocchi is made cheap, yet up to a few years ago, CROKSHOX was still using PLASTIC top-cap/ajuster knobs! Marzocchi, has been using metal caps/knobs, for more than the ten years I been riding on them! CROKSHOX was stuck on elastomers, while Marzocci was using open oil bath cartridges with coil-springs! I thing these two fact are enough to prove who the CHEAPO is!
Alls I say is "the proof is in the experience"! You can believe what the tabloids and other people say, or you can experience it for yourself!
Also, you question "Boxxers snapped in half?", well appearently you haven't looked through the "Broken Bikes" photo section too much!
- incorrect set up leads to failure - marz casting are poor quality - some rockshox flood gates leak - marz ata and WC damping units are held together with a peice of string (info via marz canada) - boxxers need rebuilds according to factory spec's very frequently..if you look at the new marz line up they require the same attention
if all these products where as bad as we claim none of them would still be forsale
get off your soap box america... get off the soap box
sammo i agree with it all... except the lat part hes one american dont make comments that involve the rest of us.
if the fork leaks get some aftermarket seals and fix that easily; enduro seals are much better then the stock seals and cost about the same.
as for Marz. i rode a 66 at northstar and it felt like crap. my fiend has a 888 WC it feels like shit, when you compress it its steps threw the travel
if you ride, you fork will get used and your going to have to change the oil/rebuild it. if you dont like that then dont ride you bike hard and you will not wear out parts.
well..except for the monsters..they're so nasty (in a crazy heavy good kind of way) lol..but then again..who would really use a monster for DH? except for FR stuff?
Exactly! Most frames would fail before the monster, and the boxxer would fail before most frames(after all, you don't see many frame with snapped head-tubes with boxxers on them)!
yea..so thats why im planning to get a boxxer race..even though it totally goes against what u said and stuff but i found one really cheap..and i would rather have the fork break than my headtube..and besides..those people who broke ther boxxer probably either was riding very hard, cased a landing, or some stupid idiots who decide to stick freggin boxxers on a hardtail!
well see, with me riding a banshee, I would rather the head-tube break, as they have a ten year warrenty(most forks only have a one year). Banshee's also determined to protect their reputation, so a warrenty would be easy to get from them(As where most fork companies would be anal about a warrenty for their fork snapped completely in half)!
yea but specialized doesnt have a 10 year warrenty..and banshee's bikes r soo awesome..they know that their bikes won't break..lol what fork do you use at the moment?
thats awesome..ive always wanted the 07 888's but theyre all out know..before i got my bighit they were crazy cheap and was everywhere online..but now its just the 08 888's which is stuff i cant afford..except for the boxxer race..ive always like the 07 888 better than the 08 for some reason..never really like the beefier stancions..
Yeah, I wouldn't have minded the newwer beefier structure, but I like the simple rebound/compression ajustments of the '05, and I'm not a fan of the new white forks with the crazy decals/silver stanchions.
straight from marz them self's
