yup it's pretty painfull, just glad to be out of the hospital now ( 3 long boring weeks ) and kinda getting on the mend, it's gonna be a long recovery, I'll have to be careful Early season next year and no snowboarding, which pretty much suck's... I'll be a online video game terror this winter...

HOLY SHIT MAN. WHEN I WAS WATCHING THTAT VID I HEARD THAT CRACK! i went limp. recover soon man!

did u get a pin or cast?? i broke my femur in 2003, 9 days in the hospital, 1 year before i was back on the bike, down the same trail i broke it on.. I got a rod, had it in for a few years before i got it taken out.. cauing massive pain. IF you have the rod, keep a close eye on any pain from the hip.

I have also Suffered a hairline fracture of the hip so it's hard to distinguish The pain.. it still hurts pretty bad it's been just under a month and I am recovering quite well.. also suffered a brocken shoulder on the opposite side ( sleeping on my back for a month Frown
Why did you get the pin removed ? I've heard this happens on occasion, Was it causing you pain?? Do you still have issues with the bone or is it "Good as new" ?

bone is better then new.. haha as the doctor says! Around my break its thicker then normal, i had to take medication to slow the thickness down. Even without the pin, leg still hurts on occasion ( one of those Lifer things ) but its not as bad anymore. i can withstand winter days here in BC!

Nice, thats the biggest bummer for me is that I have to spend ANOTHER winter not snowboarding...that sucks, and also that since i am unable to work my upgrades to my bike will require Vigilance and tons of working in the spring.. upgrades....>> Avid code's W/ goodridge lines, New wheelset ( unsure what exactly but I want Ringle hubs ) and a new rear shock ( possibly a PUSH'd 07 roco ) although I have no problems with my swinger 6 ( i'd keep it as a backup ), new grips, New Wtb Seat. also I Am going to build a Light Scouting bike Maybe a Sx trail with 66 Ata, and a Dhx Air rear.. Bc. is awesome, we plan on moving there after my Gf's apprenticeship is done.. Before i met her my plans were to move there next year... time will tell, but Regardless I spend EVERY weekend in bc. Biking, I lovve it there, I always Say That I'm "home" when I go there.

in time is when you will be able to upgrade. just remember, each year the parts get better and better. My bike at the time when i broke my leg was perfect for me. luckly i didn't break it recently becasuse i keep changing my bike around. I am awaiting my goodridge lines for my codes. All i really want is a 08/09 888 and yeah, the lines, new levers. Just refading my seat. Other then that my bike is great ( for the next 2 years) when i am going to retire from DH riding and go more into AM/XC. Due to where i live its more that then, DH!

This bike is my dream Dh rig, No compromise on strength, no concerns about weight as long as it doesn't brake on me I'm happy, I have a 2007 888rc2x and I love it, it's bombproof and feels great IMO it's the best fork in the best year that MArzocchi has ever made. I'm looking foreward to doing some Am/xc this summer as well as it occured to me that I can Stand ( marching pedaling ) pedal my demo 9 for 4 hours w/o stopping at a weight of 49 lbs So if I were to sit and pedal, and ride a bike that weighs sub 30, then I think I'd be a machiene. also I'll have to Take easy on the leg in the Start of the season.. I REALLY don;t want to get injured like this again.
where in bc. do you live?.. I though Dh was pretty prominent all over bc. ?
check out the reviews on the 08/09 888's, Most peoples opinions are that the rc2x system ( abandoned 2 years later ) of 06/-7 was the Apex of their Quality and also They were still made in italy.,, food for thought, I connot say enough good things about this
Fork.

I'm on vancouver Island. Not alot of DH around here, unless summer is around ( mt washington) we have a few trails. but nothing special. I have hard the 07 were the best of the best. i was mainly going towards the more beefier stantions. BUT of course i will always go for the one with the best price.
taking it easy is smart. I did of course. BUT had a few SMALL bails and at one point i couldn't feel my leg and was sure i broke it again, BUT mind games. i don't ride like i used to anymore, i lost my "crazyness". I've slowly been getting it back, but of course i have a finace, a 4 year old and a new one on the way so the days of being crazy and reckless are far behind me, now its just pleasure riding and safe.. haha

I don;t have a family as of yet ( no kids ) so I still have some time to be "Crazy" but I hear ya, I wouldn;t have even attampted this or many other jumps/stunts I've done, Though I never see myself not Freeriding, I'd be tamer If I had family to Care for. I got my 07, 888 rc2x for $1100 brand new, It's Ironically, segnifigantly cheaper to buy as it's an older "outdated" fork... lol, I wouldn't trade it in if someone offered me a 2009 888.. No way, this Fork Is the best they come for it's intended purpose, and It Requires NO maitenance and Has Been ridden hard for 2 years.. I'll change the oil this winter as Routiene annual MAitenance, but I don't think it Even REALLY need's it, Like i say simply Routiene maitenance. Big Grin

yeah, i've had my 05 888 works for a few years now and with no problems, no damage. regualr oil change, the fork is great. i was going towards a newer one only cause of the increases stantion size. Thats it. I like the look.
