That truck would probably be a lot cheaper to mass produce than the current ones, it'd be more durable, and could be a great entry level truck that could very easily boost sales for Toyota. They really should turn that into a production truck.
Exactly, a solid front axel is cheaper and more durable than IFS. It might not handle as well on road, but where trucks should be used anyways, off road, it's better.
Get rid of the big front end, replace it with something metal and with ground clearance instead of just covering it with that little brushguard thing and I would have that for sure. Wicked concept for a truck...back to basics.
it's not a concept anyone can go out and buy a tacoma. it is a retro version of the original toyota pickups, meaning decals and stuff. it is not a concept vehicle, the only thing they did was put a solid axle on the front, i could do that.
Yea, I understand anyone can go out and buy a new Tacoma. Those stickers wouldn't be that hard either. But if I remember right, that truck has a full retro'ed interiour too. That's a little harder. Solid front axle? That's not easy, at all.
Toyota's press release calls it a concept. I don't know what else to call it. It's not production, they made it, but dont make it for production. Hmm...seeing as the interiour has recaro fabric on the seats, and most of the stuff is pretty custom....
also, even toyota i think have that messed up. a concept vehicle is a vehicle in the makings that in a certian amount of years WILL be realeased as a production vehicle. so toyota must be putting it into production at some point. plus most concept cars are not a redesigned model of a already produced car. they are most commonly if not only, brand new vehicles. ie. new engine, new suspension, new everything!
just because it is a concept doesn't mean they will release it. but it's like you said we all know they never are going to release the tacoma like this one even though they should.
