look at the rocker on the shock... Commencal use a completely different linkage, the swingarm isn't even the same shape! but granted it is in hte same place... funny that, maybe they should have put the rear wheel in a different place...

This bike is the cat's pyjamas. I hate Evil bikes: they are making me want one. I have been keeping an eye on this bike for some time now and it is bang on. The only thing I'd say about it is that the full-builds shown above looks way sturdier than the frame itself, but again, the bike is meant to withstand abuse, so the kit is a little bit over the rough side of things. I just wonder how much it does actually weigh in at on a scale (my guess is this is a fourty pounder, and a heavy one at it).

 Looks pretty dialed.

 ya man!

well when you kinda steal a design from another company like commincal and just make the geo alittle better thats what you get

ya looks like a commencal to me

You're both idiots. Just because the suspension linkage is mounted where it is doesn't mean that they stole it from Commencal. Putting the shock there is an ideal location (lowers the center of gravity, keeps the bike balanced, etc) Look at the Demos, where's the shock? RM Flatine Pro, Tomac Primer, the list goes on. If you'd bothered to look at the other pictures, like the close up of the linkage, you'd realize it's completely different.

Trocadero: come on man, come down, will you? If you know for sure we make better bikes in Europe, why is it you are taking on so? You need to understand whe have more history backing us up than you guys do and that it is impossible to compare any US make against any EU model as they lack in style and do suffer from poor geometrics. And what about groupsets and other bobs and pieces? Say Hope for example. I think it is about time for you guys to start coming to terms with the truth and admit to it. I hope this is gonna help to make up for your confusion. Ta.

Can a man not talk some sense without being told to "calm down" ?

smeckma: How did twist shock linkage setups into a competition between which continents make better bikes?

Don't do this. First of all, you can't say that North American bikes lack style, because that's personal taste. I think that some of the sickest bikes around are coming from our side of the pond. Cove, Specialized, Transition, and Marin consistently rock my socks. Second of all, poor geometry is another thing you're wrong on. Companies build bikes to do a certain job, and they adjust the geometry accordingly. There are some bikes with killer geo's that are coming out of factories over here, as well as on your side of the atlantic. Bike geometry isn't an art form any more, it's a fact. Everyone knows that you want a low BB, a slack headtube angle, and a low center of gravity.

Groupsets? I'm confused by this one. Are you saying European bikes are spec'd better than American or Canadian ones? I could've sworn SRAM was an American company, and that their subsidies are making some of the best parts avaliable for the best riders. Peat, Voreis, Lenosky, Strait, Jonnier... yeah.

Anyways, as I was trying to explain before, just because the linkage is placed above the BB doesn't mean they stole the Commencal design.

Yes, I know, I am being most unfair now. In fact I am the proud owner of both a RM SXC 70 and a Specialized Rockhopper. I live in England, but I am half American (I was only taking the piss). Please do not call other people names just because they do not agree with you.

PS. Sometimes I wonder whether you people in the other side of the Atlantic realize we are doing just as fine over here and that we like you as we always did.

It looks almost identical to the 07/08 Commencal Supreme DH.........dont get me wrong they were great bikes and the Evil looks amazing, but it is pretty much a carbon copy.
