that big berm to the right looks like it's made out of concrete. look's like a fun place to ride.

no concrete mixed in the dirt... I don't do that, it is bad for many reasons... this is just the result of really good dirt...

  • 1 0
 Yes... all by myself Wink
  • 1 0
You do much planning beforehand or just work freehand?
  • 1 0
for pumptracks, it all happen in my minds... After it depends...
  • 1 0
You build with friends or with construction crews?
  • 1 0
80% of the time all by myself...
  • 1 0
Hehe, sort of the same on my trails. But once built you have a lot of people come ride what you build?
  • 1 0
this spot is private, with fencing and gate... so I don't let every one riding it... but Trond Hansen really enjoyed it last Week End... Wink

Not unlike some of the trails I rode in Santa Cruz then - only they are on somebody else's private land, haha
Seriously though; cool that you get good people to ride and have control over who is there. Nothing more annoying to find your hard work wrecked by obnoxious and disrespectful kids.

right on Wink even if I also build public stuff such as MTBPark, muny pumptracks and skill centers... it is always good to keep to yourself some pieces of smoothitude...

 Pro builder?
Ofc important to keep developing and testing new experiments; like in any domain really. Especially if you are building public stuff for others to use.
  • 1 0
Yep I build trails for the living Wink
  • 1 0
Interesting. I'm sort of thinking along those lines myself - swiching over fron construction management to building trails. That plus making CAD software for the same purpose.

if you really wana know... you must have a shit load of dedication ... cause it doesn't pay much..; compare to the work you can do... or at least to myself it is tough but I still like it...
  • 1 0
Too true, but I never loved money anyway and would rather be happy doing what i do than do what I have to do but not liking it.
