Nah i wouldn't say it's overkill...this bike performs well wherever. It's nice and light for xc too.

Cool, Im thinking about saving up for one, It will take a long time but will be better than wasting my money of loads of little things. And another question, would this handle proper DH? and DH styled Jumps? if that makes sense...

well, i dunno, i've tried a road gap on it but bottomed really harsh and dented my frmae

however, if oyu had enough air in the rear shock it would hadle it fine.

well, im hoping to replace the bars/stem/seatpost/saddle as they are all specialized and not the best quality, and then after that im not sure. new hubs probably. any suggestions?

Last time I suggested parts for someones bike I got major abuse lol.... Anyway here I go - Thomson Post with a Sunline V1 or Selle Italia SLR As for hubs, You can't go wrong with Kings or Hope Pro 2s.

Yah. Sunline and Thomson stuff is great. Sunline AM stem or Thomson Elite. Both super light.

you can't really go wrong with truvativ hussefelt/holzfeller stuff! Well priced and very well made!

i would recommend the hope pro 2's for hubs - they are sweet as hell!!
