 55 are really good for dj if you have them set up right and if you watch the nissan qashqai paul bas uses all mountain 1s lowered to like 100mm big fors are sometimes just as good

 and if you do want sommit like 120 or 140 for big drop or north shore 55 or whatever have alot more travle than dj1s or 4x that ony have 100 travle and cant be ajusted

 theres still no point having a 55 lowered to like 80. Its still heavier then any dj fork.

 but if you are good enough it wont matter about the weight look at darren baracloth and paul bas they use 55 lowered and look what they are can do on them

 marzocchi dj forks feel like shit...so the 55 is stronger and a bit plusher...sick job on the raw...

 well for the record the 55 is slightly lighter than a 4x (5.2 vs 5.4 if your going to be picky) and plus the larger stachions make it stiffer.
