im not 100% sure about this photo but i think its photoshopped cuz the guy all around him is blurred then he just blurred the background to make it look better and that truck does look photoshopped, or its just real and epic as shit!
Nope Never heard of a site, just old fashion experience..been using Photoshop for a long time, and all the photos are shot with a Nikon D70 which helps a lot. I thought i would have some fun with Photoshop and give props to all the local talent in my neighborhood. Thanks for comments
Cool photo, but it is NOT tilt shift... Tilt/shift refers to a LENS(or a lens movement on a view camera) not a plug-in for photoshop. If this was done in camera, why is the whole truck tack sharp, then the landing ramp is just as out of focus as the roof of the house? Optics just don't work that way! Read up on how a large format camera works and it should all come together...
it is real, they just used a really good focal range on it, makes it looked all effed and miniature because your mind can't see what is in the background, so you can't focus on anything but the rider and the jump. and because the truck looks so small (because of the parked angle) against the house, it brings down the scale of the rider and everything.
regardless of the angle, no photo technique can make the nearby truck look smaller than the SUV in the driveway - the depth of field is totally inaccurate.
Dotca it is what we call a fake tilt shift. It is created with photoshop most of the time. It's a real photo. I've done one like this before. A real tilt shift though would have had the bottom of the photo also out of focus.
Good try though. the effect is good minus a few editing errors like the front of the truck. To get a better effect "more natural" use a wide gradient tool, the one that ads a gradient to both side though. You will get a better effect and smoother transition between the out of focus and the in focus.
Great photo! I'm not a dirtjumper but I love this shot. Shrinking the depth of field really brings great emphasis to the subject. For me it really stops time!
Thanks for sharing.
Hey Xlien quick question. I know how the low f-stop business works and all that, but did you edit this too? Because it seems that the lines around the truck are too sharp. You did selective blurring right?
stop hating,For all those out there, that thought this pic was fake, take a look to see, how fake it is on blackmarketbikes.com front page. east coast ride on
i think this picture is good, but to be honest there are some really stupid folk on pink bike. talking about things they actually have no idea about. i dont know what editing has been done but i know two things. its not a natural wide depth of field affect and its not a natural tilt and shift effect. its been done in editing stage. anyway cool effect and i like the way the truck looks like a toy.
Really nice photo! Love the way the out of focus house is pushed to the background and the rider, ramp, and truck are super clear and really stand out.
To anyone who still doesn't get what Tilt-Shifting is, I made a tilt shift photo of a previous POD. http://www.pinkbike.com/photo/3664123/ It is basically making far away shots look miniature.
OKay pretty much sad pink biking when your drunk is awsome.. or not , maybe if you have a sad life and have to get drunk to have fun, or not social drink :/ Prick.
hahaha, going on pinkbike at 2am drunk is perfectly normal in my opinion, and if i just got home from a party, i see that as a life? and JorgenKona, constructive cristicism, read right underneath the photo next time before you post POD or not
oh..lol well theres this fast food restaurant called china-express and i eat there frequently. my original name for pb was 6andy9 but the admins made me to change it so i just quickly thought of this one.
