im 6ft and its a large and its a really good ride, light weight, low, geometry is spot on and its really fun to ride hope that helped also it pedals really well
haha thats what i was like when i first rode one i suddenly gained a deep hatred for the guy who owned it lol but then i bought the frame of him XD and he got the 09 one (sponsered by yeti uk) and thanks for the comment
nope because half the parts are broken now or on other bikes also if i was to sell the one in this pic it would be a heel of alot more then what im asking for just the frame
haha yer man will do though i am trying not to change parts as much theres like 4 things left i want to change then im gonna leave my bike alone because i found my perfect frame, bars, stem etc.... but want to get a better wheelset, some fox 831 forks (this is gonna be the last change probably due to the cost of them), new saddle and a different shifter then hopefully my bike should be done
haha i bought gee's just for the parts the frame felt like shit to me, then the yeti is amazing as a frame and im reluctant to sell it i just need the cash and dont use it as much as my last(use to be flow before i battered the frame to shite), the norco sucked pedalled like shit and was to small for me
the last a hardtail? i always loves lasts dh bikes, so clean. my 4x dually has a whopping 5 iches out back, which is good for me as i dh more on it that jump really, nowhere here is rocky so its gonna rip
yer it is a hardtail and yer the dh bikes look bluddy sweet aswell my mate hatch is sponsered by last and has both the rufus hardtail and the herb dh his build are sweet i wish i was sponsered by last
haha yer im not really bothered about sponsership right now if it happens it happens if it dont it dont i just love racing for fun i need to start training anyway cause i got to the point where im just lacking that last little bit of power and balls lol. yer the herb is suppose to be wicked to ride shame i stopped riding dh
it feels pretty much like a hardtail the only thing is in the gates you get a bit of sag when you pull back and you tend to be able to put down a bit more power because of the rear wheel being in contact more with the ground but then again it depends on how much you pump up the rear shock but one things for sure it gives you a bugger load more confidence
pros: best changing deraliuer i have ever had and light weight cons: i snapped mine and shimano dont make any mass produced spares for it that i needed so i would have to wait a few months to get them so now i just run a sram x9 of my dh bike
quite frankly i would go with sram soo much less hassel and shimano always hit against the frame and anoys the hell out of me but if your set on getting shimano you should look at the saint
Another con would be that since it isn't designed for MTB usage, the b-tension spring isn't strong enough to stop the derailleur from smashing on the bottom of your chainstay on hard landings. If you wanted a nice light short cage I'd stick with X.9 or X.0.
not really because im running an X.O On my yeti right now and the new saint on my flow and the saint shifts loads better and yes both are set up spot on
well thats odd because i find it the complete opposite but my saint is acctually a custom one i got off gee athertons 4x bike i bought so that might make it difference but not sure also what shifters do you run
maybe not sure it does look a little different to my mates that have the 09 saint aswell and in the case of the shifter i think it is down to my deraliure because my shifter is the xtr i don think theres too much difference performance wise between the two
Luke you do realise that most of your new bike is not ex-atherton. The guy only bought the frame and forks off the athertons and then he got alot of the other parts form elsewhere.
oooh now i got you its just that you put 'XT M771 GS shadow derailleur' but now i get what you mean. surely the GS shifter mixed with the SS derailleur is your problem then or as i said it could just be that my saint is different
the frame with shock weighs in at a claimed weight of 6.1lbs and the complete bike weight was roughly 27.8lbs as in the photo but at one point had it down to roughly 26.5lbs
