Think about this logically. Would a company bring a bike to the market with wack geo that wouldn't work for downhill and market it as a 10" DH bike? f*ck no. That would be a huge waste of time and money. They have spent a few years developing this bike, there is no way that they would over look something like a headtube angle, esp when that is something that people always look for. The market is trending towards slacker and slacker angles and you don't think Marin knows this?
That is a 10" frame, under sag the bb will drop and the HT angle will slacken out. Not to mention its on a f*cking stand there is at least an inch lowering of the BB right there. Go watch the video, you can see that it is way slacked out when its actually on the ground.
for anyone that HAS NOT RODE A MARIN,jus needs to shut..the team i raced on all last season on Socoms and we sent 6 back out of 11..2. marin has a system that really works..i also raced on konas and that was a joke n 07..half of u guys are like 13 i was racing bikes when u guys ur still suckin on ur mom titts..dont knock something untill u try it
hmm the angles look dead steep... quite a nice looking bike but dont think it is anywhere near as nice as the v-10s and the new intenses that have been comming out...
WAAAAA ! no i'm kidding, it's ugly ! looks like a RM9 geometry ! very high BB, steep angle fork.... Can you put a Super Monster on this frame please :-) Top tubes goes too high on the seat tube, too, no room for knees... Definitely not a DH bike... What about "Marin Quad Bender" ?
everyone saying the head angle looks too steep - the rear wheel is sitting up on the stand, the front isn't - makes the head angle look steeper than it is.
i like it but it remindes me of the orange patriot ! which isn't a bad thing but its hardly inivative (might be spelt wrong)and the head tube is at to steap.
love all the bike experts who have already judged the bike just by seeing it, it's amazing! "high bb, way too steep of a head tube angle, and definately a terrible rear end, so flexy", I wish I was as wise as you guys!
It's possible that the sus is set up for a 40% or so sag, resulting in a proper head angle. In the picture the HT angle is aroung 67 or 66, I'm guessing it will drop to 65 or so if the BOXXER isn't run too soft.
The fact that the rear wheel is propped up and the front isn't doesn't help the look of the head angle either. I bet it works just fine, looks really top heavy. For the record, Shaums would slay it no matter what bike he was on.
honestly just wait till u guys try riding it...so much fun...and the head angle will slacken up a bit when the sag comes into play...remember just like a v-10 this thing has 10 inches of travel...meaning the first 2-3 are usually sag
and also the v-10's BB height is over 14 inches....by looking at where the bottom bracket is on this bike in comparison to the rear wheel... it looks to be right below the middle...which would make it just under 13 inches...and then add about an inch to compensate for the tire...so this thing has a lower BB and similar head angle to the best DH bike in the world right now...maybe everyone should stop criticizing it for two bloody seconds and just give it a chance...im willing to guess its a lot nicer than whatever DH bike most of the people who are calling it down are riding
Agreed. Without the stand I'd put it at about 14. Not that I should be saying that though. We don't even have the geo yet so why are we all bashing it?
your a fanny norcodazz, there is absolutely no problem with carbon bikes, Mick hannah rides a carbon frame for dh and has been V. fast. Also carbon fibre is one of the strongest materials known to man, research it first before you make stupid comments
