Woo Seraph U got URself a finest bike piece that ever came out of hands of a polish designer. I think NS frames kick ass, but their components are just bloody average and they charge for them way too much. In fact NS hubs are nearly the same price as HOPEs, and that's hopeless... apart from the average stuff their handlebars are actualy a crap! heavy and bend/break easily.
So the Outlaws are about 5.3 lbs for the set. Mine are around that weight, if not a little bit lighter. I'd be happy to sell the bike without the wheels though.
Well I didn't really ride it for very long, but I can say that the geometry wasn't as comfortable as my Riots. I did appreciate the standard headtube, though. The paint is also very weak and not very thick, tightening the disc brake mounting bolts decimated the paint job in that area.
With the same parts as the Holeshot? The only problem I had with the Sub using gears was that there are no cable guides, so I had to use plastic adhesive guides and zip-ties all over the place. Also the lack of ISCG mounts makes setting up the chainguide less than ideal. My next hardtail frame is going to be a 2010 Santa Cruz Jackal, which I think combines the best of both worlds: street/dj geometry with adjustable horizontal dropouts, and ISCG mounts with cable guides.
Yeah well I've been at this "bike mechanic" thing for a long time, the parts kinda just collect. At one point I was able to build up a complete Blur 4X for my friend to race on, complete with Chris King wheels, a Marzocchi 4X WC, XTR cranks, and X.0 drivetrain.
yea thats very respectable man, wish i had a guy like u at my lbs, i have to like learn to keep my bike dialed thru trial and error sumtimes(truing wheels), my bike is also slowly getting there lol
than you're not actually jumping it. i could ride small smooth dirt jumps on a xc bike. if you're riding what that bike is meant for, there is no way 21 pounds without rigid would hold up. I barely cased a jump with those exact forks and now my steertube is bent
Well, what can I say? I like light bikes, and I know how to ride them. If I can't ride this at 21 lbs, then how can BMXers ride sub-20 lb bikes and not break them constantly?
because bmx's are smaller and more compact, aka less material needed in frame, rims, tires, spokes, tubes, cables, fork, chain, and bmx hubs are spaced smaller so they could also weigh less. very poor argument buddy
Talk about a poor argument. All you said was that BMX bikes are smaller and therefore stronger. That makes absolutely no sense. You're talking to a seasoned mechanic, so you better back up your theories with more than just speculation.
Considering the nice parts she has on her (Masterpiece post, XT cranks w/ceramic bb, King headset, ti rotor bolts, etc) I'd not let her go for less than $1000.
yah man i feel ya its only good on the buyers side of a reduced price bike, its just this is the first time i have seen the top in yellow and it looks realy good
