judging a civic by appearances is foolish. nuff said. but I'll say more anyway. just because the tuner scene has ruined its reputation for many people, that does NOT make it a bad car. this is a jdm car, be it a show car or a go car. and this is a show stopper. the rice scene is all about loud body kits and loud engines that cant do shit. jdm exteriors are about the subtle tweaks that make the car more outstanding. but the engines are where the shit is at. American civics where de-tuned to meet American specs, hence the crappy little econobox perception over here. but the real cars where the japan spec cars, hence the desire to have a jdm civic over an American spec one. they had real horse compared to ours. ever heard of the legendary AE-86? corollas were rear wheel drive in japan, and front wheel drive here. see the difference? they had trunoes and levins while we had family coupes. they. had the AE-86. we didn't. now honestly, does every civic suck simply because its a civic? NO. that is a stereotype that stupid movies like f&f project. I would rather have a jdm civic type r over a mustang 5.0 any day.
trust me, im into the tuner scene. And sorry, that car isnt JDM, its USDM. if it was JDM making left hand turns would be hard because the steering wheel would be on the right, trust me I live in Canada, every third car on the road is a JDM import. and how are those wheels not "loud"? Again, Engine bay shots please, or the FMIC and ill happily appologize. Time slip would be acceptable, or a DYNO sheet.
it could have a lefty conversion. and the wheels aren't loud because they are 15's. just because they are red doesn't mean a thing. jdm wheels are rare, expensive, and very light. and by tuner scene, do you mean ricer or actual tuners? and another little thing here. even if this is a weak old civic 1.6 with little to nothing under the hood, you gotta admit it looks much better than a stock civic or even a riced out civic. its so clean in its styling. btw to the guy who posted this, whose car is this?
Mitchum, first what do you drive? just out of curiosity? and even if it is a slow 1.6l, keep in mind the car weighs close to 2,000lbs wet. So just because it doesnt require 500hp to move its weight around like most fatass american cars, does not mean it isnt quick. 1.6l were like 110hp, my brother has one along with a 73 mustang, so I know what im talking about with the weight. The little car gets up and goes, and if you dont know what VTEC is besides making it loud (lol) then don't diss on it. Im not a fan of civics or honda in general, but I just dont like seeing other cars getting bashed because of some chinky f*cks who like body kits and have mexican taste for interior and rims. I would hate to see my favorite cars (VW,Datsun) get bashed like this, so I thought id help defend it a little.
first of all this car doesn't have a 1.6L engine. this car been engine swapped to a k20a which kicks out a 250HP and weight around 2,000lbs and that is a really good weight to power ratio and i am sure this could beat all american muscle around the track and PROBABLY keep up or not fall behind againts Vipers
im not a civic fan at all . mostly because of all the guys that drive around town and sit in parking lots with there ugly bodykits and useless wings . i agree that this car MIGHT be auctually fast but it still probably sounds as anoying as any other riced out civic with a fart can .
yeah, my brothers stock civic hatch weighs nearly nothing so im not surpised some of them haul ass. haha my datsun needs a diet and a roll bar before i hit the 160mph stock benchmark

I would never ever buy or run rotas. Rotas are shit wheels, with knock off wheel designs of real Japanese wheel companies like work wheel and volk racing.

I've been around the import/euro scene my whole life. My brother is only running formula d this year for god sake. You think I don't know what I'm talking about? 1 piece cast wheels suck period, but rota takes that to another level. I have been to every one of my brothers amateur events and I have seen too many sets of rotas crack, and just have seen too many crashes where the wheel doesn't only bend, the wheel faces completley get pushed out of the barrel. I would like you to show me some "highend rotas" that aren't knock offs of some advans or works.
Ive never seen rota's run at events before, I guess thats why. I always thought they were just overly expensive. Thanks for informing me, wasn't really ment to insult you. Who's your brother racing for in formula D, which team?
Whoops forgot to hit reply, and rotas are NOT expensive at all. At 400 for a set of 17's they are dirt cheap, but you get what you pay for. Work wheels, advan, volk racing etc. run bout 1800-4500 for a nicely fitting set of 17's, they are for sure highend.
I've seen a lot of kids running them in AM events, and there is a reason to why no one runs them in big events. But my brother is on discount tire direct's drift team.
