Yeah, but them extremely bright flashes probably have some UV properties to them, and any one knows the "Blacklight" effect can be seen for great distances...

first things first, why would u mention neil armstrong? :S
and actually, they proved that the material of the space suit, did end up being brighter in the picture because of the reflective index of the ground on the moon. so he did look like it was brighter than u would actually suspect he would be
just pointing it out

I would have gears on my hardtail, but I go through derailleur/hangers like a hot knife through butter so i opted for the cheaper alternative
