no it dosnt! its just a plating, it dont affect the metal at all, like gold plating. it just makes it a bit heavier. it snapped because eastern use 2mm thin 4130 tubing, its too thin.
dude, you are an effing idiot. 1, dont beleive everything you read on teh web, if i put an article on wikipedia saying george bush invented global warming to sell pancakes, would you beleive it?. 2, Chrome is JUST A PLATING. does paint weaken metal? no. does andonising weaken metal? no. +1 to nicky.
its called hydrogen embrittlement, it was boeing who found it out and im not a effing idiot due to the fact that i knew what hydrogen embrittlement is.
Chrome plating will not weaken regular hot rolled or cold rolled steel, but has the potential to embrittle high strength steel if not promptly and properly baked. do you realy think that eastern dont know this?
they know that their frames aint too strong. so they aint gona use inferior plating techniques are they?
